BRUGES FOR CHILDREN

We welcome children of all ages and we will do anything to make them feel really at home. Bruges has many sights and attractions which can excite children such as:

" Boat trips: Leave every half hour, embarkation just next to the hotel.

" Horse & carriage rides: Departure from the Market Square for a half an hour journey with touristic and historic information on the city.

" Bike tours: At the reception we have maps with various biking tours in and around the city. Bikes and tandems can be hired per hour, half a day or per day. We really recommend a tour through the Polders-countryside to Damme and Oostkerke.

" The Folklore museum: Shows 19th Century life in Bruges: the shoemaker, the teacher in his school, the kitchen, children's games, 19th century clothes and habits, etc.

" The St Janshuys Windmill: One of the few mills still in use (open from May to September)

" Boudewijnpark Bambino land: beautiful family-attraction centre at app. 5 min. drive from the hotel, offering various attractions such as: horse-carrousel, Mississipiboat, horse rides, zoo, mini-golf, mini-train, auto scooters, playground and much more. " Boudewijnpark Dolfinarium: Great show with dolphins and seals (please contact reception for a detailed brochure - Open from April - September)

" Boudewijnpark Bird show: Interesting show with eagles, parrots, hawks, etc. (please contact reception for a detailed brochure - Open from April - September)

" Climb to the top of the Belfry and discover the 47-bell carillon and the breathtaking views.

" The St John's Hospital: one of the oldest medieval hospitals of Europe, evoking every day's life in hospitals in former times.

" Bruges Diamond museum: Diamond polishing was invented in the 15th Century in Bruges. One can attend the diamond polishing demonstration daily at 12.15hrs

" Celebrations: Medieval gala dinner with jesters, minstrels, knights, dancers, witches & fire-eaters (April - October: every Friday & Saturday evening, November - March: every Saturday evening)

" Brewery Straffe Hendrik: family-brewery since 1856 explaining the history and making of beer (open March - October)

Quite often there are also concerts, events, expositions etc which can be attended during a certain limited period. More information on this is available at the reception.

Other children services we offer are babysitting, cribs & changing mats, high chairs, candies on arrival ( parents permitting), prams & strollers. Cartoon Channel, toy basket, colouring books & crayons, children's movies and popcorn.
